Concept art for the 'Toni & Aberdeen' graphic novel project - a story of two time travellers that, when not visiting alternate realities, live in a deserted 2003 Vancouver stuck in a stasis.
Cueca! The national dance of Chile, also performed in Bolivia and Argentina. Here we can see my character Aberdeen dancing with a man dressed as a huaso (similar to a cowboy, though usually not bearded as shown here). Toni sits and watches while playing an acoustic guitar. The dance is powerful, entertaining, and inspired by the courtship ritual of a rooster and a hen. I've had the honour of seeing it performed live three times at various Chilean cultural evenings.
Ever since I changed Aberdeen's backstory to that of a Chilean, I've had a lot of help both online and from friends, in learning more about Chilean culture. As for Aberdeen's name origins, that's another story.
